Passive solar design refers to the use of the sun's energy to heat and cool the living spaces in a home, utilizing the southern exposure to allow the sun to enter the home during the winter and warm it's interior.
This plan has 9 1/2" treads. It does not conform to the 2006 IRC, which now required 10" treads. Other versions of this plan ( 1305A and 1307A ) have been modified for 10" treads, but this version want allow the modifications and front windows.
